World War Two period Polish cap eagle badge. Polish eagle cap badge depicting an eagle with spread wings sitting on an amazon shield. The head is topped with a closed crown. On the reverse a pair of fixing lugs, period replacement.

 A 1939 pattern Polish eagle cap badge made from in the Middle East. Scarce variant, known to be worn by the Polish Commandos. Good condition as on photographs. 

 This version of the eagle is mentioned in the book by Tomasz Zawistowski. “Orły do czapek w 2. Korpusie Polskim” on page 117, illustration 151 and page 230, illustration 424.
