post-WW2 Polish Rogatywka wz.35 Hat – Colonel Engineers

  Polish 1935 pattern garnison “rogatywka” hat of engineers made in the period 1944-49 for the communist Polish People’s Army.

Square top made of olive cloth. Black velvet band, the color used by engineering troops, including sappers and technical units. On the band, 3 five-pointed stars, and, between the panel and the band, two silver braids indicating the rank of colonel.

Leather chinstrap fastened with a buckle, attached to the cap with two pre-war buttons. Black fiber visor with a white metal rim.

The inside of the cap with signs of intensive wear, sweatband made of impregnated canvas, visible signs of use. On the front of the cap there is a Polish pre-war 1919 pattern eagle cap badge with a crown attached via a threaded post with a protective spinner nut.
