WW2 Soviet Polish Virtuti Militari 5th Class Cross

Polish Virtuti Militari Cross in USSR for the Polish People’s Army which formed under the Soviet Russian command. 

 Made in Moscow circa 1944 by the Stampowoczno-Mechaniczeskij Zawod. Condition as on photographs, one arm of the cross damaged with the ball missing. 

 Award in the shape of the cross, in the centre a crowned white enameled eagle with wings spread. On the arms an inscription in black enamel “Virtuti Militari”. The reverse has clear arms, the centre medallion has a laurel leaves crown, with an inscription in the centre “Honor i Ojczyzna 1792”, meaning Honour and Fatherland 1792.
