WW2 Polish SBSK Soldier’s Prayer Book – Recepient of Virtuti Militari

  Polish Prayer book “Lord stay with us” composed by the chaplains of the Independent Carpathian Rifle Brigade, printed by the Polish Army in the Middle East in Jerusalem in 1942.

  On the front side, the owner details, “Kapr. Zgierski Leon, III Komp” . Corporal Zgierski Leon, born in 1915. Decorated with the Virtuti Militari Cross number 10162. Promoted to Lance Sergeant. A soldier of the Independent Carpathian Rifle Brigade, then the 3rd Carpathian Rifle Division.

  Hardcover secured with green canvas, on the front cover there is an impressed Polish Eagle sitting on the Jerusalem Cross, below the title “Panie Pozostań z Nami”. Booklet heavily used, visible abrasions, damage, a few loose pages. It was a personal item that was heavily used by the owner, most likely used by the entire Italian Campaign.
