A fine Solid Silver medal issued by the Institute of Józef Piłsudski in London to commemorate the Polish Marshal Edward Śmigły-Rydz. Designed by Krzysztof W.Munnich in Longmeadow (Massachusetts, USA). Made by Toye Kenning & Spencer Ltd in Birmingham in 1975.

The front of the medal depicts the bust of Marshal Śmigły Rydz facing left, around him a inscription with a Polish general’s zig-zag – “Edward Śmigły-Rydz 1886-1941”.

The reverse depicts a crowned Polish wz.1927 state eagle in the center, above two crossed marshall’s maces, surrounded by an inscription: “Generalny Inspektor Sił Zbrojnych – Naczelny Wódz – Marszałek Polski” – “Inspector General of the Armed Forces – Supreme Commander – Marshal of Poland”.

 Hallmarked on the edge for Birmingham 1975, maker TK&S – Toye Kenning & Spencer.

 Fine and rare medal, in an original cardboard box.
