WW2 Rare Polish Gold Cross of Merit with Swords

Gold Cross of Merit with Swords, awarded for combat merit in the battlefield. Made from gilded bronze and enameled. Original period ribbon. Decoration in a period box (although not the issue box) with a label in french “Croix de Merit, Republic Pologne”.

 Rare version made in France by A.Bertrand or M.Delande, which cooperate together.

Award in the shape of a cross with arms covered with red enamel, sunlight rays in between the arms. The in the centre medallion initials RP (Rzeczpospolita Polska – Republic of Poland). Between the cross and the suspension ring a pair of crossed swords.
