A set of three photos showing Polish soldiers during military operations in Italy. Typical “front” photos, soldiers do not have collar badges and shoulder patches, only Polish eagles on caps and helmets and Polish ranks on shoulder boards. The Polish soldiers fought in such uniform during the Italian Campaign. The mountainous terrain suggests that these photos were taken in May 1944 during the Battle of Monte Cassino, the city of Cassino is visible in one photo.

The first photo shows Polish soldiers in British helmets in full gear and armed with a “Bren” machine gun, on some of the helmets are visible Polish eagles and Polish military ranks.

The second photo shows a truck with a Polish soldier on Route 6. In the background you can see the Castle Hill above the town of Cassino and the ruins of the town.

The third photo shows the soldiers resting on the mountain, one of them is drinking water from a canteen. Visible scattered equipment, including weapons, radio and helmet.

Three unique photographs, condition as shown in the photos.
