A rare badge from the 1st Aeronautical Course in Warsaw. The course was organized by the Polish Aeronautical Society in December 1916. Only 73 participants completed the first Aeronautical Course, who later became pioneers in the emerging aviation sector of independent Poland.
The badge is in the form of a ring that includes a propeller, wings, and an airplane engine, with the acronym “KL1” (Kurs Lotniczy 1 – Aeronautical Course 1) inscribed between them. At the top, there is the Coat of Arms of Warsaw in the form of a mermaid with a sword and shield, topped with a crown. The reverse is smooth with a semi-soft imprint visible. In the center, there is a post with a nut. The badge comes with its original fabric backing. Condition as shown in the photos.
