Description
A Polish cap badge featuring an eagle with outstretched wings resting on an amazon shield. The reverse has a pair of flat wires for attaching to a cap.
This eagle was used by the Polish Legions and the Polish Army between 1917 and 1920, made in Vienna in 1917/18. It is a variant with the crown removed, made in silver-plated steel. The condition is good as shown in the photos.
This version of the eagle is mentioned in Tomasz Zawistowski’s book, “Polish Cap Eagles 1900-17,” on page 90, illustration 102.
