A Polish cap badge featuring an eagle with outstretched wings resting on an amazon shield, its head topped with a closed crown. The reverse has a pair of flat brackets for attaching to a cap.
This eagle was used by the Polish Legions and the Polish Army between 1917 and 1920, made in Vienna in 1917/18. This variant includes the crown and is made of steel, copper-plated, and silver-plated. The condition is good as shown in the photos.
This version of the eagle is mentioned in Tomasz Zawistowski’s book, “Polish Cap Eagles 1900-17,” on page 91, illustration 104.
