Scarce Polish breast badge of the C383 Labor Service Company 408, Polish Guard Companies. Badge in the form of crossed Polish and American flags in enamel. In the center is an oval plaque inscribed “January 26, 1946, C383 LAB SERV CO408” surrounded by nine stars on a blue enamel background. To the sides bronze oak leaves. Visible damage and repair to the enamel. Smooth reverse with a threaded post with a plain aluminum nut screwback and a leather washer. 

This exact badge was published in the book by Benedykt Wojciechowski & Zdzisław Sawicki “Polskie Siły Zbrojne na Zachodzie 1939-47” published in Gdynia-Warszawa 2009. It can be found on page 666. A very rare, original and published badge.
