Description
A unique Polish eagle cap badge used by the Polish Army in France during the years 1939/40. Very good condition.
A rare variant of the eagle, cast and sold in Paris around 1939-40, worn by only a few soldiers according to the accounts of Colonel B. Mincer. We know of no more than three examples in private collections.
This version is mentioned by Tomasz Zawistowski in his book titled “Polish Cap Eagles from 1939-1945” on page 18, illustration no. 7.
The badge features an eagle with a crown and outstretched wings, perched on an Amazon shield. The reverse is smooth. Good condition as in photographs.
