World War Two period Polish War Navy eagle badge. Made by J.R Gaunt of London for the Polish Navy in Exile. A rare example made at the beginning of production circa 1940 with a marked maker on the reverse “J.R Gaunt London”.

White metal badge depicting a crowned eagle with spread wings sitting on an amazon shield, the amazon shield covered with blue lacquer and applied brass gilded anchor. Reverse with a pin.

Polish Eagle Cap badge used by other ranks of the Polish Navy in Exile in the years 1940-1947. Very good condition as in photographs. This version of the eagle is mentioned in the book by Tomasz Zawistowski.“Polskie Orły na Czapki 1939-45” on page 128, illustration 255.
