The Polish Cross of Valor, made for the Polish Army in the East under the command of the communist USSR, i.e. the so-called “People’s Army”. The variety is also called “Lenino” because this version is the first variety given to soldiers by the communist authorities after the famous Battle of Lenino in 1943. The production did not exceed 1,000 pieces.

A version made of bronze, produced in the USSR in Moscow by the Moscow Mechanical Die Plant (Moskiewskie Mechaniczne Zakłady Matryc) NKPS around 1943/44. Version L1 based on the book by Grzegorz Krogulec “Krzyż Walecznych”. A Polish Cross of Valour awarded for acts of valour in the battlefield. The award in the shape of the cross, In the center a Polish crowned eagle with spread wings. On the arms an inscription “Na Polu Chwały 1943” meaning “On the fields of Glory 1943”.

The reverse with a sword and a laurel leaf crown with inscription “Walecznym” meaning, Valourious.
