A rare variant of the badge of the 1st Polish Rifle Brigade, produced by M. Rubin of Tel Aviv (Palestine) for officers transferred from Scotland to the Middle East.

Classified as variant 13b, as described in “The Polish Army in the West 1939–47: Commemorative and Specialist Badges – A Collector’s Companion” (2020) by Tony Leszczuk & Krzysztof Barbarski.

The badge features a crowned Polish eagle diving to the right, with a thistle wreath at the base — a nod to the unit’s Scottish connection. The wreath, talons, and crown are gilded, providing a distinguished contrast to the silver body.

The reverse is smooth, stamped with the number 76, the silver hallmark “925”, and the maker’s mark “M.R”, attributed to M. Rubin of Tel Aviv. A threaded post with the original screw-back nut is located at the center.

Condition: Very good, as shown in the photographs.
