The medal was established by a resolution of the Presidium of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Poland on April 25, 1925, as an honorable distinction for achievements in work by citizens of the Republic of Poland, a motivation for noble competition within society, and to foster a sense of civic duty. It was awarded only once, in 1925.
The decoration consists of a double-sided medal with a diameter of 30 mm, struck in silver. The obverse features an image of the national eagle, with two diamonds placed below the eagle’s talons, and the inscription “RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA” around the edge. The reverse of the medal bears a two-line inscription: “3 MAJ 1925”, with a serial number of the award placed below. The medal was worn on a 38 mm wide ribbon (either triangular or longitudinal) with horizontal white and red stripes. The presented example bears the number 1522 and was featured in Mr. W. Stela’s catalog, Polish Orders and Decorations Vol. V Part 2, page 203, as a model example of this decoration. Condition as shown in the photos.
