A rectangular photograph of General Anders riding a horse. In the picture you can see that the General is wearing a summer uniform and a side cap, Virtuti Militari is visible on the chest. On the reverse is an inscription “Iraq 1942”.

General Władysław Anders, a Polish military leader and politician born on August 11, 1892, died on May 12, 1970 in London. Division General of the Polish Armed Forces, Commander of the Polish Army in the USSR, 2nd Polish Corps, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, in the years 1950-1954 he was the successor of the President of Poland in exile.
