Description
A patriotic gorget made by soldiers of the Polish Armed Forces in the West from the 1st Rifle Brigade. A gorget in the form of a copper shield, applied to the center is the Virgin Mary of Częstochowa (cast in white metal), repoussé rays, stars and clouds around the Madonna, below them an eagle from the badge of the 1st Rifle Brigade of the 1st Polish Corps in Scotland and the inscription “Pod Twoją Obronę Uciekamy Się” (Under Your Protection We Flee).
The reverse is partially covered with lead. A copper chain on top. Good condition as in the photos.
