Polish Merchant Navy Medal, established in 1945, issued to seamen of the Polish Merchant Navy for their service during the Second World War. A total of only 1050 medals were awarded.

Round medal made of white metal. On the obverse of the medal is the emblem of the Polish Merchant Navy, a shield with the national emblem, a crowned eagle, a shield against the background of an anchor surrounded by laurel leaves

On the reverse, in three horizontal lines, the inscription “Polska Swemu Marynarzowi” (Poland to its Seaman). Below the laurel leaves tied with a ribbon.

Made from a soft alloy metal, silver plated. This version is considered the first issue of the medal, made most likely in the 1940’s.
