Description
Polish shoulder lanyard for the Norwegian Campaign, the so-called “Haakon’s cord”. Issued to soldiers who took part in the struggle for the freedom of Norway in 1940. i.e. in the Battle of Narvik. The cord was mainly given to the soldiers of the Independent Podhale Rifle Brigade, but also to the sailors of ORP “Burza”, ORP “Blyskawica” and ORP “Grom”.
The cord was worn on the left shoulder, fastened on the left pocket. Good condition with signs of wear. Red silk cord with white and navy blue thread (national colors of Norway). On the rope the so-called “Norwegian lion”. Made by Sinclair & Thompson Ltd of Glasgow (Scotland).
