WW2 Polish Eagle Side Cap Badge – Lead 1944

World War Two period Polish side cap eagle badge. Field cast from lead. Polish eagle cap badge depicting an eagle with spread wings sitting on an amazon shield. The head is topped with a closed crown. Smooth reverse, fastening broken, visible remains. 

On the amazon shield the owner engraved most likely his inicials (B B ?) and the date 1944. Unusual piece.
