An eagle made for the needs of the Polish Armed Forces in the West in Occupied Germany (British zone), including the 1st Armored Division of General Maczek, the 1st Polish Independent Parachute Brigade and the Polish Guard Companies. Made by the Wilhelm Deumer workshop from Ludenscheid in 1945-50.
This particular eagle comes from the archives of the Wilhelm Deumer factory and served as a display piece. It was sold by Mr. Peter Groch in 2002 to the collection of Mr. Radosław Paciorek. Thanks to this example, it was possible to determine the manufacturer of these eagles, as mentioned by Mr. Tomasz Zawistowski in his book “Polskie Orły na Czapki 1939-45” on page 85, illustration 177, footnote 17.
A photos show a scan of a certificate from the late Mr. Peter Groch with a scan of this eagle.
A fantastic example with outstanding provenance and impeccable condition.
