Description
Polish Cross of Valor made for the Polish Armed Forces in the West. Version made of bronze, produced in the United Kingdom by the Technical Group in London in 1944-45, with the original ribbon on a pin. Version 24b according to Grzegorz Krogulec’s book “Krzyż Walecznych”, commonly known as “Brzuchacz”.
The Polish Cross of Valor was awarded for bravery on the battlefield. The award is in the shape of a cross, with a Polish eagle in a crown with outspread wings in the center. The arms bear the inscription “Na Polu Chwały 1920” (On the Field of Glory 1920). The reverse features a sword and a laurel wreath with the inscription “Walecznym” (To the Brave).
