Description
A Polish bracelet commemorating the conquest of Monte Cassino by the 2nd Polish Corps of General Anders. Made in Italy around 1945-1946.
The central plaque with an elliptically rounded shape shows the hills with the ruins of a conquered monastery over which the Polish eagle is visible. A decorative ribbon is stretched below the whole and the inscription “M. Cassino – 18 -V-1944” below it. The remaining elements of the bracelet consist of symbols:
- 6th Lwów Infantry Brigade,
- 14th Wielkopolska Armored Brigade,
- 2nd Warsaw Armored Division,
- 5th Kresowa Infantry Division,
- 2nd Polish Corps,
- 8th British Army,
- 3rd Carpathian Rifle Division,
- 7th Infantry Division,
- Independent Commando Company,
- Command of the Polish Army in the East.
Very good condition, as shown in the photos, covered with a rich patina.
