A Polish Paratrooper Combat Wing Made by Kirkwood & Son of Edinburgh. The eagle is numbered 494, combat wreath 1928. The badge was unissued, most likely worn as a replacement.
Badge in the form of a spiking eagle. To the eagle’s claws is attached via an aluminum rivet a gilded wreath of laurel leaf.
Smooth reverse, impressed inscription “Tobie Ojczyzno” – “For you Fatherland” and the number 494. The brass wreath is impressed with the number 1928. Correct spinner with the maker “Kirkwood & Son, Edinburgh”.
Para wings 1-500 were designated for the graduates of the “O” Course of the Section VI of Polish General Staff, the Cichociemny (Silent Unseen) agents. Badges 330-500 were unassigned.
