Bronze Cross of Merit with Swords, awarded for combat merit in the battlefield. Version made by Samuel Kretschmer in Jerusalem, Palestine. Made from brass. Original period ribbon.

Award in the shape of a cross, sunlight rays in between the arms. The in the centre medallion initials RP (Rzeczpospolita Polska – Republic of Poland). Between the cross and the suspension ring a pair of crossed swords. 

 Cross belonged to  Corporal Czesław Wasilewski, born in 1913, Army Number 1913-114-III. Took part in the Battle of Monte Cassino. Fought in the 6th Light Artillery Regiment of the 5 Kresowa Infantry Division
