Badge of the 307th Polish Night Fighter Squadron “Lwów Owls” “City of Lwów”. A rare variety with green stones on the eyes.
Unofficially, the eyestone badges were worn exclusively by pilots. Ground crew who were also entitled to wear this badge wore one without stones.
A badge in the form of an eagle owl with green eyes that rests on a fighter plane, a half moon above it. Under the plane number 307 – 307 Squadron.
Reverse with a counter die visible, in the middle a threaded post with spinner. Badge made in silver. Very good condition as in the photos.
The 307 Squadron is well known for the defense of Exter during the Exeter Blitz in 1942.
