In the lower left corner is the address: “1 Hill Street, London W1.” On the right side, the card is signed by General Władysław Anders: “W. Anders C.B, Lt. Gen. December, 1948.”
General Władysław Anders (1892–1970) was a distinguished commander of the Polish Army, a hero of the September Campaign, and the leader of the Polish Armed Forces in the East, later known as the 2nd Polish Corps. After evacuating his troops from the USSR through Persia, he led them during the Italian Campaign, including the famous Battle of Monte Cassino in 1944. After the war, he remained in exile and continued to advocate for the Polish cause, becoming a symbol of resilience and the struggle for independence.
