The Polish Virtuti Militari Cross of 5th Class, the highest Polish award for military acts of bravery. Cross awarded to Stanisław Dobierzyński from the 15th Lancers Regiment stationed in Poznań. Awarded on the 30th of June 1921 for action in the Polish-Bolshevik war. 

 A private purchase Virtuti Militari cross with an engraved number of the recipient on the reverse (3996). An original version of unattributed producer (possibly Gontarczyk of Warsaw), specific three piece construction with front and back medallions applied. Tombac and enamel. Original period ribbon.

 Worn condition as on photographs with incomplete enamel.

 Award in the shape of the cross, in the centre a crowned white enameled eagle with wings spread. On the arms an inscription in black enamel “Virtuti Militari”. The reverse has clear arms, the centre medallion has a laurel leaves crown, with an inscription in the centre “Honor i Ojczyzna 1792”, meaning Honour and Fatherland 1792.
