A Polish Solid Silver breast badge of the Association of the Polish Legion, the Cross of Legion “Krzyż Legionowy”. The association gathered veterans of the Polish soldiers which fought under the command of Józef Piłudski in the 1st World War.
Badge in the form of a cross, on the arms the dates 1914 – 1918 and letters LP for Legion Polski (Polish Legion). In the center is a laurel leaf crown letter JP (Józef Piłsudski).
Die stamped. Reverse with a clear counter die, in the middle a threaded post with a spinner and a pin. The pin appears to be period-applied and suggests that the badge was worn by one of the few women members.
Bo the badge and the spinner are made from 875 silver and have Polish silver hallmarks for Warsaw, maker “KH”.
