Polish officer’s saber model 1921 produced at the Armaments Factory of Gabriel Borowski in Warsaw. This specimen includes the original officer’s temblak model 1936 and a leather frog on the scabbard.
The blade of the saber is nickel-plated with slight curvature and three grooves on both sides of the blade’s fuller. The blade is single-edged. On the ricasso, there is a raised etched floral motif with a central cartouche inscribed “Honor and Fatherland,” also featuring a crowned eagle. On the inner side of the blade, an early signature “G.BOROWSKI” is visible.
The handle is made of brass with a single knuckle bow guard. The knuckle bow is angled at a right angle, changing shape in an upward curve. The saber’s pommel is directed forward with a distinctive cap secured by a brass screw. The handle grip is wooden, profiled, covered with black leather and wrapped with a double twist, likely repaired or added later. The nickel-plated sheet scabbard has two rikfes ending in movable rings, terminated with a shoe.
The saber includes the original officer’s 1936 pattern knot, signed with the letters B.M. (Biały Metal – White Metal). The saber’s leather frog shows visible repairs and is flexible.
Total length with scabbard: 96.5 cm
Length without scabbard: approximately 93 cm
