Tally for the sailor’s cap of the Passenger Ship SS Pulaski. TSS (Transatlantic Steam Ship) Pulaski was purchased in 1930 by the Polish Transatlantic Shipping Company (later Gdynia America Line). In the years 1930-39, she sailed as a civilian passenger ship mainly between New York and Gdynia. From 1939, she was used as a military transport ship in the Mediterranean Sea and the Indian Ocean.
A tally in the form of a thin black ribbon with golden letters “TSS Pulaski” worn on sailors’ caps. Letters embroidered with golden thread, the tally itself in very good condition, a visible trace of the place where it was fastened on the cap. It has minor dirt, the material slightly differs in shade on the top and the back, but it does not interfere with the great presentation in the collection, what’s more – it adds character.
Tally dimensions:
Length – about 87 cm
Width – 3 cm
A very rare collector’s item.
