Polish Commemorative Breast badge of the Polish League of Active Struggle. The Polish War League of Active Struggle was an anti-Bolshevik military organization, founded in Kyiv in April 1917 by Henryk BagiƄski and several members of the Galician organizations Armia Polska and Polish Rifle Squads. Its establishment was a response to the destructive activities of Polish Bolsheviks within the Polish Rifle Division. The League aimed to form a strong Polish army in Russia and create its own armed force to ensure the seizure of power in the country.
Members of the League in the I Polish Corps in Russia engaged in recruitment and cultural-educational activities among the local Russian community. Due to the organization of the I Polish Corps in Russia, the League was dissolved at a delegates’ congress in Minsk in December 1917.
On November 10, 1925, the Minister of Military Affairs approved the design of the badge of the Polish War League of Active Struggle by order G. M. 26777.I.
Two-piece badge made of gilded tombac in the form of a red enameled cross with a white frame. The date 1915 – 1925 is inscribed on the horizontal arms. Crowned eagles sitting on amazon shields are placed between the arms. In the central part there is a white enamelled shield with the inscription (Polska Liga W. W. Cz).
The reverse is slightly counter-marked, with two visible pins securing the shield. In the middle there is a threaded post with a spinner nut. Condition as in the photos.
