Description
Polish Breast Badge of the 15th Poznań Lancers Regiment, made by the workshop of Stefan Zygmaniak in Poznań.
The badge is in the form of a laurel leaf crown. At the center is a soldered, stylized Polish crowned eagle perched on a sword, holding the Virtuti Militari order in its beak. Surrounding the eagle are four enameled Polish national flags (white and red), along with the date “27 XII 1918” – commemorating the outbreak of the victorious Greater Poland Uprising.
The reverse of the badge is smooth with a shortened threaded post. Original screwback marked “St. Zygmaniak Poznań.” Condition as in photographs.
