post-WW2 Polish wz.35 Rogatywka Officer Visor Cap – Lieutenant Engineers.

Polish 1935 pattern garnison “rogatywka” visor hat of engineers units made in the period 1944-49 for the communist Polish People’s Army.

Square top made of olive cloth. Black velvet band, the color used by engineering troops, including sappers and technical units. On the band, 3 five-pointed stars, and, between the panel and the band, two silver braids indicating the rank of lieutenant.

Leather chinstrap fastened with a buckle, attached to the cap with two pre-war buttons. Black fiber visor with a white metal rim.

Interior of the cap shows signs of wear, sweatband made of impregnated canvas, visible signs of use. On the front of the cap, eagle model 19 without a crown, attached via a threaded post with a spinner, visible spot where the diamond-shaped manufacturer’s tag used to be. Cap after conservation.
