A Solid Silver British Commemorative Medal/Plaque, made on the occasion of the visit of John Paul II to Britain in 1982.
The front of the medal shows the profiles of John Paul II and Queen Elizabeth II, the reverse inscribed “1982 John Paul II Visit to Great Britain”.
This medal belonged to a veteran Polish family. During the visit to the United Kingdom, John Paul II met with Poles who lived in Exile.
On the edge numbered 509 and hallmarked for Birmingham 1982, Sterling Silver.
