November Uprising 1831 Polish Associations of Great Britain 1833 Medal

1833 Commemorative medal designed by F. Halliday issued by the Polish Association of Great Britain to commemorate the November Uprising of 1830-31. Cast in lead, silver plated. Due to the soft nature of the medal most of these are found in terrible condition, this example however is in good condition with minor scratches and dents.

 To the front two figures, personification of Britania and Polonia (Poland), above inscription “Poland thou art not lost”. The reverse presents an inscription surrounded by a laurel wreath “The Polish Associations of Great Britain to Unhappy Heroic Poland 1833”.
