A souvenir trophy of a British Soldier from the Crimean War with insignia of the Russian Army captured during the Siege of Sevastopol (1854-1855). 

 The trophy in the form wooden shield upholstered in red cloth on which are mounted two triple grenades

Worn on cartridge cases of Russian Infantry and one single grenade from the Russian Jaegers Units.

In the middle is an Imperial Russian 1828 pattern Russian Eagle. The insignia is in the form of a double headed crowned eagle, with a shield showing St.George slaying the dragon. The eagle is seated on an amazon shield. 

Below the eagle a wooden Russian Pipe.

To the bottom of the shield an engraved plagued “Sebastopol 9th Sept. 1855 “. The date of fall of Sevastopol.
