A badge commemorating the internment of Polish Legionnaires in 1918 at Maramaros-Sziget (now Sighetu Marmației, Romania). A rare variant of the badge made in silver, fully hallmarked as silver 750, Vienna, 1917-1922, maker FxS.

The badge is in the form of a five-armed cross covered with blue enamel. In the center is a shield surrounded by a thorny crown and the inscription “MARAMAROS MCM.XVIII SZIGET.” It is a two-part badge with a backing plate and a nut. Condition as shown in the photos.
