A circular medallion from the reverse of a 19th century Polish Virtuti Militari Cross. Most likely of a French production made after the 1830-31 November Uprising. Diameter 12mm.
Circular medallion, in the centre a crimson rider on a black horse, both in enamel. The rider on the reverse is known as “Vytis”, the coat of arms of Lithuania. Below a date in 1792, to commemorate the Battle of Zieleńce when the Polish-Lithuanian forces won the battle against Imperial Russia.
